VHS Technical Architecture — Prototype to Platform
VHS is more than a visual prototype. It is being designed as a layered access-control and visualization platform — a conceptual architecture intended to support how future eVTOL networks coordinate movement between access nodes and structured aerial corridors.
Access Node Registry
A registry of approved access nodes — vertiports, airport vertiports, hospital pads, rural sites, logistics hubs, and certified private pads — each with defined location, capability, and operating envelope.
Aircraft and Operator Identity Layer
An identity layer designed to verify that an aircraft and its operator are known to the network before any access request is honored.
Transition Volume Model
A geometric model of the controlled 3D airspace between an access node and a corridor, used as the unit that gets reserved, held, and released.
Reservation Engine
The core logic that issues, schedules, and tracks reservation windows against transition volumes and corridor entry points.
Conflict Detection and Hold Logic
Rules designed to detect overlapping requests, place lower-priority movement into a hold state, and release that hold once the volume is clear.
Emergency Priority Override
A priority path designed to elevate qualifying emergency movement while other reservations are held or delayed.
Operator Dashboard and Event Log
An operator-facing visualization layer and time-stamped event log designed for monitoring, review, and post-event audit.
Pilot-Facing Status Layer
A pilot-side status surface — Requested, Held, Authorized, Released — designed to make the network's decisions readable inside the cockpit experience.
Future API and Integration Layer
A planned API surface for vertiport systems, fleet operators, and ecosystem partners to integrate scheduling, identity, and event data.
Regulator and Operator Visibility Layer
A reviewable layer designed to give regulators and operators consistent visibility into access decisions, holds, releases, and emergency events.
